Here's all the older news from this site. Most of it is kind of pointless now, but I figured I'd archive it here anyway.
Update: 6/18/98: The site will probably down on Saturday and will remain down until Tuesday at the earliest. Bell Atlantic SUCKS. I'm moving up to Boston and taking the server and a few other computers with me. It may take a while for DNS to get fixed up, too, so the hostname might not resolve for a while.
Update: 6/17/98 (PM): An unexpected thunderstorm caused a power surge which reset the server today. I left the machine off until the storm passed - about an hour all told.
Update: 6/17/98: Added a "Totals" page to give a breakdown of submissions by processor type.
Update: 6/16/98: Sorry for the unexplained downtime earlier today; the new CPU arrived and I took the server down to install it. (I was expecting a K6 233, the place sent me an Intel P233 MMX. Ohwell, it overclocked readily to 262 MHz.)
Update: 6/15/98: Some people have said they are unable to connect to the site. This is probably due to the amount of traffic generated - I didn't think the response would be as good as it has been, so httpd has been adjusted accordingly to handle the increased userload.
I had planned on pulling the machine this server runs on down later today for hardware additions and a CPU upgrade. However, this will not be occurring since the CPU hasn't made its way here yet. It will probably arrive tomorrow.
Update: 6/15/98 (PM): Added a "preview" option to the Submissions page so you can see what your submission will look like.
